- What is the difference between Dry Fill Capacity and Service Refill Capacity?
Answer:
Car manufacturers supply fill capacities for transmissions based upon a dry fill. When draining an automatic transmission, there will always be residual fluid in the torque converter, transmission itself, hoses and transmission cooler. The amount left in the transmission after draining will vary by vehicle and there is no specific percentage common to all vehicles.
When draining a transmission and refilling, the amount taken out should be replaced and careful attention paid to getting the fill to the correct level as per the manufacturer’s instructions or requirements.
Care must be taken, as dry fill capacity is often more than service refill capacity.

C.I.M Ultra CVT C16 has been launched to cater for 2nd and 3rd generation CVTs that use a lower viscosity fluid for improved fuel economy and performance. It is suitable where Mitsubishi DiaQueen CVTF-J4 and Nissan NS-3 is needed in current model vehicles.
